Strategic Bureaucratic Reform: 28 Ditjen Bimas Hindu Officials Undergo Intensive Leadership Competency Assessment

The strategic bureaucratic reform within the Directorate General for Hindu Community Guidance of the Ministry of Religious Affairs has entered a crucial phase. A total of 28 selected civil servants (ASN) underwent an intensive series of competency assessments to demonstrate their eligibility and readiness to lead the organization at the Administrator and Supervisor levels.

The assessment series, centered at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Bali Province on Friday, ran in a marathon session from morning until evening. Departing from conventional evaluation methods, these future leaders were comprehensively tested through a combination of a written essay exam focusing on vision depth and personal face-to-face oral interviews.

During the initial phase held at the Upenkom Building Hall of the Bali Ministry of Religious Affairs Regional Office, the assessor team guided participants through a 120-minute written examination. Moving into the second half, the assessment pace intensified with face-to-face oral exams divided into five specialized sessions. In the isolation rooms, each participant was interviewed individually by assessors to thoroughly evaluate their managerial skills, socio-cultural competencies, and emotional maturity.

While officially closing the event, the Director General for Hindu Community Guidance, Prof. I Nengah Duija, emphasized that this competency test was not a mere bureaucratic routine to fill vacant positions. Instead, he noted that this momentum serves as a crucial turning point that will determine the career roadmap and future of every official.

"This position-filling competency test is a defining point for your future career. Every career phase must be embraced and executed to the absolute best of your ability. Technical competence plays a vital role, but it must be reinforced by educational background. The richer your educational background and training, the wider the opportunities will open to reach the optimal peak of your career," Prof. Duija stated.

Prof. Duija also offered special motivation to the young cadres participating in the assessment. He encouraged them to continuously challenge themselves and avoid complacency regarding their current capabilities.

"For those who are still young, if you are able to pursue higher education, do so. It will serve as a primary support for your future career. Remember, once you are trusted to hold a position, uphold the honor and dignity of the Ministry of Religious Affairs properly. Serving religion and the nation is an absolute duty," he added.

Earlier, the Secretary of Directorate General for Hindu Community Guidance delivered the final execution report. Out of the 38 individuals originally scheduled to participate, 10 officially withdrew, leaving 28 participants who completed all stages. The management of Ditjen Bimas Hindu expresses high hopes that all remaining participants can meet the high standard qualifications set, ensuring that structural vacancies across various regional offices can be filled immediately to maintain uninterrupted public service.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Assessor Team, Pieter Reinold Mochliat, noted that the current high demand for assessments within the Ministry requires a multi-layered evaluation process. He assured that the score recapitulation process will undergo several strict phases to maintain objectivity and accuracy before the final results are officially submitted to the Directorate General for Hindu Community Guidance.
