The Director General of Hindu Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, I Nengah Duija, received an official visit from the Central Executive Board of the Kesatuan Mahasiswa Hindu Dharma Indonesia (KMHDI) for the 2026–2028 period in Jakarta. The meeting served as an important opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance and KMHDI in developing a generation of Hindu youth who are competitive, capable, and committed to contributing to the advancement of the Hindu community.

During the meeting, KMHDI Central Chairperson for the 2026–2028 period, I Putu Ardi, presented a report on the successful implementation of the KMHDI Mahasabha (National Congress), which was held in Lampung in March 2026. In addition to introducing the newly elected board, consisting of 75 members, he outlined several strategic organizational agendas, including the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) and the inauguration of the new KMHDI leadership, scheduled for 16–18 July 2026.

Ardi explained that during the current leadership period, KMHDI will focus on strengthening cadre development, promoting entrepreneurship, and enhancing organizational self-reliance through initiatives managed directly by KMHDI members. The organization is also committed to expanding community development programs in Hindu villages, particularly in transmigration areas that require sustained support and assistance.

Furthermore, KMHDI plans to launch an Executive Job Fair to create greater employment opportunities for active members while also developing a Political School program aimed at improving cadres’ understanding of public policy and Indonesia’s political processes. On the occasion, Ardi also expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the continued support provided by the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance.

Responding to the presentation, I Nengah Duija congratulated the newly elected KMHDI leadership for the 2026–2028 term and praised the successful organization of the Mahasabha in Lampung.

“KMHDI is a valuable asset for the future of the Hindu community and an important partner of the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance. Its members represent the next generation who will continue serving Hindu communities across Indonesia,” Prof. Duija stated.

The Director General reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining and strengthening collaboration between the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance and KMHDI. According to him, many of KMHDI’s planned programs are closely aligned with the Directorate’s strategic priorities, particularly in community empowerment, MSME development, human resource enhancement, and economic empowerment initiatives.

He also noted that KMHDI’s extensive presence throughout Indonesia provides a highly strategic platform for collaboration. With networks reaching various regions and a membership base consisting of educated and talented Hindu youth, the organization has significant potential to become a catalyst for positive change within society.

In his remarks, Prof. Duija encouraged all KMHDI members to uphold the good name of both their universities and the organization they represent. He emphasized that integrity and ethical conduct are essential foundations for meaningful service to society and the Hindu community.

At the same time, Prof. Duija explained that the current budget situation within the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance limits its ability to provide maximum support to student organizations. Nevertheless, he stressed that the spirit of partnership and collaboration would continue to be strengthened in support of the advancement of the Hindu community.

Regarding youth capacity development, the Director General encouraged KMHDI members to take advantage of available scholarship opportunities, including the Beasiswa Indonesia Bangkit (BIB) offered by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. He described the program as a strategic opportunity for Hindu students to enhance both their academic qualifications and leadership skills.

Concluding the meeting, Prof. Duija reaffirmed that the values of solidarity, mutual cooperation, and collaboration would remain central to efforts to advance the Hindu community. He expressed hope that the strong relationship between the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance and KMHDI would continue to flourish and generate programs with tangible benefits for society.

“We will always support the spirit of togetherness and collaboration for the advancement of the Hindu community. Through strong synergy, we can create broader benefits for society and for future generations of Indonesian Hindus,” he concluded.
