As a strategic step toward advancing religion-based vocational education, the management of Sekolah Utama Widyalaya Kejuruan Eka Dharma Sastra (UWK Eka Dharma Sastra) held an audience with Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, ST.,M.M, Governor of Lampung, at the Governor’s Office in Bandar Lampung on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Principal of UWK Eka Dharma Sastra, Drs. Ketut Sukra Yadnya, M.M., alongside with the Chairman of the Banjar Tengah Foundation, Ir. Made Purnamaputra Kamandaka, presented the institution’s role as a formal educational institution under the Ministry of Religious Affairs that integrates the general education curriculum with the distinct values of Hindu religious education.
Chairman of the Banjar Tengah Foundation, Ir. Made Purnamaputra Kamandaka, emphasized that the presence of the school represents a tangible contribution to preserving educational diversity in Indonesia.
“The existence of UWK Eka Dharma Sastra is not merely as an educational institution, but as a center for character building that is aligned with the values of diversity. Toward the integration of general curriculum and Hindu education, we hope to provide inclusive educational access for all segments of society.”
Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal warmly welcomed the institution’s initiative. He emphasized the importance of synergy between the government and the education sector to create a competent and competitive human resource base in Lampung.
“The Government of Lampung Province fully supports the presence of UWK as part of our educational development ecosystem. We must ensure that our children, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, have access to proper education. I have instructed council members of Balinese origin here to serve as foster guardians for students in need so they can continue and complete their education.”
Moreover, the Governor also committed to strengthening the vocational aspect of education by facilitating access to capital and employment opportunities for students.
“We are ready to support the development of Job Training Institutions (Lembaga Pelatihan Kerja / LPK) through financing facilities at Bank Lampung under an interest-free scheme. Furthermore, we will open broad access for students to undergo training at various leading hotels in Lampung so that they are fully prepared when entering the workforce.”
Principal Ketut Sukra Yadnya welcomed the commitment positively. He stated that this synergy serves as a catalyst for optimism as the school continues to grow.
“The full support from the Governor gives us renewed energy. We are committed to producing young generations who are not only technically competent but also equipped with strong spiritual and cultural foundations to face future challenges.”
This meeting is expected to become a strong foundation for building a sustainable partnership between the Government of Lampung Province and educational institutions, with the aim of producing outstanding individuals who are ready to compete at both national and international levels.
