The Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, toward the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance, is conducting the 2026 Competency Assessment for Promotion to Higher Functional Positions for Hindu Religious Counselors from October 19 to 21, 2026.
The assessment was held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Competency Development Center (Pusbangkom) in Ciputat, as a part of strategic initiative aimed at strengthening civil servants’ professionalism, promoting competency-based career development, and improving the quality of religious guidance services for the public.
In his remarks, Secretary of the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance, Dr. Ida Made Pidada Manuaba, S.Ag., M.Si., emphasized the importance of administrative preparedness, accountability, and the use of digital technology in facilitating the assessment process.
“This competency assessment demonstrates our commitment to establishing a transparent, accountable, and equitable personnel management system. We are ensuring that every stage of the process is designed to be inclusive and accommodating. For participants who are unable to attend in person, online assessment facilities are provided to ensure that everyone has equal access to the process without compromising the rigor or quality of the assessment standards,” he said.
Director General of Hindu Community Guidance, Prof. Dr. Drs. I Nengah Duija, M.Si., officially inagurated the event and delivered key remarks on strengthening the management and capacity of Hindu religious personnel.
“This competency assessment is not merely an administrative requirement for promotion to a higher functional position; it is also an instrument for continuous career development. Civil servants’ career progression must be supported by assessments of competence, performance, and integrity, as well as accountable documentation of their duties. Talent management, inter-agency coordination, and proper administrative management of functional positions must continue to be strengthened to ensure clear career pathways for Hindu religious counselors up to the Associate Expert level,” Prof. Duija said.
The assessment has 16 registered participants from 10 provinces: North Sumatra, the Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Lampung, Bali, East Java, Central Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and West Nusa Tenggara. To ensure equal access for all participants, the organizing committee has provided an online assessment option via Zoom for those unable to attend in person.
Through this initiative, the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance reaffirms its commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning among Hindu religious counselors. The assessment is expected not only to support career advancement but also to improve the quality of religious guidance, strengthen religious moderation, and enhance the delivery of responsive, inclusive, and professional services to Hindu communities throughout Indonesia.
