The 14th KMHDI Mahasabha serves as the highest decision-making forum of the national Hindu student organization, attended by approximately 170 delegates from Regional Leadership (PD) and Branch Leadership (PC) of KMHDI across Indonesia. This forum represents a strategic moment to formulate the organization’s direction as well as the tangible contributions of Hindu youth to national development.

The opening ceremony was attended by several national figures, including the Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), Ahmad Muzani, who officially inaugurated the event through a national address, the Governor of Lampung, and representatives from various ministries and institutions, including the Director General of Hindu Community Guidance.

In his remarks, Ahmad Muzani emphasized the importance of students as key drivers of national development, particularly in facing the challenges of achieving Indonesia Emas 2045.

“Hindu students must be able to become drivers of the creative economy, build from the grassroots, remain critical yet solution-oriented, and maintain national unity as the nation’s main strength,” said Ahmad Muzani.

Meanwhile, the President of KMHDI, I Wayan Darmawan, stated that the 14th Mahasabha is an important momentum to reaffirm cadre solidarity while strengthening the organization’s contribution to the nation.

“This Mahasabha is not merely an organizational forum, but a space for consolidating ideas. We are required to remain productive and capable of producing policies that have a real impact on Indonesia’s future,” he asserted.

The Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Gede Eka Yoga Mahendra, explained that the event not only focuses on organizational agendas but also encourages the emergence of progressive ideas related to national development, including issues such as food sovereignty, energy independence, and strengthening interfaith tolerance.

“The 14th Mahasabha is expected to produce strategic recommendations that are relevant to the nation’s needs, as well as strengthen KMHDI’s role as a development partner,” he stated.

During the Mahasabha, several key agendas will be discussed, including the accountability report of the previous central board, amendments to the organization’s guidelines, the election of a new chairperson, and the presentation of the KMHDI Awards to outstanding members and inspirational figures.

The presence of the Director General of Hindu Community Guidance, Prof. I Nengah Duija, at this event underscores the government’s support for the strategic role of Hindu students in national development based on spiritual, intellectual, and national values.

The atmosphere reflected a strong spirit of unity and togetherness, reaffirming the commitment of Hindu youth to uphold national values. This spirit strengthens optimism for the emergence of new leadership that is adaptive, progressive, and capable of making meaningful contributions to the advancement of the nation.

The 14th KMHDI Mahasabha is expected to become an important milestone in producing new leadership that is adaptive, progressive, and responsive to contemporary challenges, while also strengthening the real contributions of Hindu youth in realizing an advanced and competitive Indonesia.
