Sentul, Bogor (Bimas Hindu) - The Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, alongside Vice Minister of Religious Affairs Romo H.R. Muhammad Syafi’i, attended the 2026 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of the Central and Regional Governments, held at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), Bogor, West Java, on Monday. The meeting provided a strategic national forum to strengthen alignment in development priorities between the central and regional government.

This agenda was attended by 4,011 state officials, including boards of Ministers from Kabinet Merah Putih, vice ministers, heads of state institutions, and regional leaders from across Indonesia. The attendance of policymakers from multiple levels of government signified the importance of the Rakornas as a national consolidation platform for harmonizing policies, program implementation, and development responsibilities.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs participated institutionally with a full delegation. This agenda also was attended by the Secretary General, the Inspector General, General Director of Islamic Education and Directors General for religious community guidance across religious. The Director General of Hindu Community Guidance, Prof. I Nengah Duija, also attended the meeting as part of the Ministry’s leadership delegation. This comprehensive representation reflected the Ministry’s strong institutional commitment to supporting the national development agenda grounded in the values of nationhood, diversity, and public service.

During the state ceremonial proceedings, The Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar was entrusted to lead the prayer. In a solemn atmosphere, the Minister prayed that the entire national coordination agenda would proceed under the guidance of Almighty God and contribute to strengthening unity and integrity among state institutions. He emphasized the essential of spiritual values and national ethics as foundational principles in public policymaking.

The Minister further prayed that the Rakornas would generate clear-minded, wise, and responsible deliberations, ensuring that the resulting policies are not merely oriented toward administrative achievements but also deliver real impact for public welfare and national unity. He also prayed that Indonesia would be protected from conflict, disasters, and various threats that could weaken the foundations of national and state life.

The 2026 National Coordination Meeting of the Central and Regional Governments was officially inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto. In his remarks, the President emphasized the essential synergy and unity of action between the central and regional governments as a fundamental prerequisite for the success of national development. He also highlighted environmental issues, particularly waste management, which he described as having become a serious challenge to public health and sustainable development.

Regarding the challenges, the President introduced the “Indonesia Asri” Movement as a national initiative aimed at fostering a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment. He instructed all leaders of ministries, state institutions, and regional governments to demonstrate exemplary conduct in maintaining environmental cleanliness, starting within their respective work environments offices. 

The President’s directives are closely aligned with the policies and approaches of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which have consistently prioritized eco-theology values. The Ministry of Religious Affairs considered environmental conservation as an integral part of the moral and spiritual responsibility of religious communities, recognizing the relationship between humanity and nature as inseparable from the relationship with God and fellow human beings.

Aligned with this commitment, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has implemented various concrete measures, including policies to reduce the use of single-use plastics in the workplace and strengthened environmental awareness education through institutions under its guidance. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has expanded the grassroots level policies toward taking a strategic role in fostering ecological awareness grounded in religious values among the wider community.

During the 2026 National Coordination Meeting of the Central and Regional Governments, the central government reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cross-sectoral and interregional coordination, while ensuring that national development proceeds in parallel with the reinforcement of national values, leadership integrity, and responsibility for environmental sustainability.
