The Director General of Hindu Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Prof. I Nengah Duija, has emphasized that the migration of Pasraman data must be carried out carefully, systematically, and fit into applicable regulations. He made the statement during a meeting with the Tirta Bhuana Foundation at the office of the Director General of Hindu Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Building in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The meeting, which was also attended by the Director of Hindu Education, Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana, discussed the management of Formal Pasraman data as a follow-up to the implementation of the latest regulations governing Hindu religious education. During the meeting, the Tirta Bhuana Foundation presented several inputs regarding the data migration process and sought guidance to ensure that the management process proceeded in accordance with the applicable provisions.
Director of Hindu Education Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana explained that the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance had prepared technical guidelines to serve as a reference for managers of Hindu educational institutions in carrying out the institutional adjustment process.
He said that Minister of Religious Affairs Regulation (PMA) No. 10 of 2020 regulates the transformation of Formal Pasraman into Widyalaya, while the institutional arrangement of Nonformal Pasraman continues to be carried out in line with developments in the regulatory framework.
“The technical guidelines are already available as a reference. We hope that the entire adjustment process will be carried out in accordance with the regulations so that the governance of Hindu education becomes more orderly and provides certainty for both educational institutions and the community,” Sudarsana said.
Prof. Sudarsana further emphasized that Nonformal Pasraman continues to play a strategic role in providing Hindu Religious Education and Character Education, yoga instruction, and various religious guidance activities. He stated that the existence of Nonformal Pasraman offers an important solution in supporting the provision of Hindu religious education services in various regions.
On the same occasion, Director General of Hindu Community Guidance Prof. I Nengah Duija called for the data migration process to be conducted carefully, with strong coordination among foundations, educational institution managers, and the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance.
“This transition must be carried out carefully to prevent administrative problems in the future. Accurate data will serve as the basis for policymaking and the future development of Hindu education,” Prof. Duija emphasized.
He also emphasized that Nonformal Pasraman remains an important component in expanding access to Hindu religious education services. Therefore, the institutional arrangement process is expected to further strengthen the role of Pasraman in meeting the Hindu religious education needs of students.
The meeting finalized a shared understanding of the importance of adjusting Pasraman data and institutional structures as part of the implementation of regulations governing Hindu religious education. The Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance affirmed that the process would continue to be monitored through coordination with educational institution managers in various regions to ensure that it proceeds in an orderly manner and in accordance with applicable regulations.
