The momentum of the rising role of Hindu youth in contributing to national development was reflected in a youth consolidation event organized by the Central Board of the Indonesian Hindu Youth Association (Perhimpunan Pemuda Hindu Dharma Indonesia / Peradah). The event, attended by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, served as a platform for reflection and a reaffirmation of young people’s commitment to building a more advanced Indonesia through education, strong character, and the ability to adapt to technological developments on Friday.
The event was attended by the Director General of Hindu Community Guidance of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, who emphasized the government’s support for the strategic role of Hindu youth in preparing competitive and high-quality human resources.
The event was also attended by the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, the Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development, the Chairperson of the Central Board of the Indonesian Hindu Youth Association, leaders of Hindu community organizations, the Chairperson of the Central Board of Wanita Hindu Dharma Indonesia, youth organization leaders, as well as members of the Hindu community in Jakarta who participate in the event.
In his remarks, the Chairperson of the Central Board of Peradah reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting the priority programs of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and to playing a strategic role in developing human resources, particularly among Hindu youth.
He stated that Peradah plans to expand its activities to various regions across Indonesia. According to him, many young people in the regions possess significant potential that has yet to be fully developed, while some still face challenges in continuing their education due to various constraints.
“Peradah will seek to play a role in addressing these challenges by building awareness that continuing education is extremely important, especially for children with talent and potential. Young people must be given the opportunity to grow and develop for the future of our nation,” he said.
On the same occasion, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka emphasized that Indonesia is currently experiencing a critical momentum that presents a golden opportunity to boost national productivity. He reminded the audience that such opportunities do not come twice, and that the younger generation must make the most of them.
In his address, the Vice President also encouraged young people to continue building strong character, improving their capacities, and developing their potential. He noted that Peradah has consistently served as a positive platform for nurturing the talents and abilities of Hindu youth in Indonesia.
Furthermore, the Vice President highlighted technological developments, particularly the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), which has become a major focus for many developed countries around the world. According to him, Indonesia must not fall behind in responding to these technological changes.
“Those who adapt quickly will grow and progress. Those who are slow to adapt will struggle to catch up and will only become spectators,” he stated.
Nevertheless, the Vice President reminded young people not to become overly dependent on technology. Artificial intelligence should be used wisely, responsibly, and with careful attention to ethical considerations.
Concluding his remarks, he invited all young people to continue maintaining unity and strengthening the spirit of nationalism.
“As youth, let us unite to build this nation. Let us spread unity, not hatred,” he said.
The event marked an important moment to strengthen synergy between the government, Hindu youth organizations, and all components of society in developing a generation that is principled, competitive, and ready to face future challenges.
