The Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs strengthened its strategic planning for 2027 through a Buda Sanggrahana meeting. The meeting discussed several priority agendas, including the development of Widyalaya, improving the quality of Hindu Religious Counselors, preparations for the 2027 National Utsawa Dharma Gita, and strengthening institutional governance.
The meeting held in the 14th Floor Meeting Room of the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance on Wednesday and attended by the leadership boards of the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance, rectors and Heads of Hindu religious higher education institutions across Indonesia, the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Bali Province, Heads of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Offices across Bali, Hindu Community Guidance Supervisors, and representatives involved in Hindu community guidance from various regions.
The coordination meeting served as a forum for consolidation to ensure that Hindu community guidance programs respond to the needs of the community and have a clear direction toward 2027.
Widyalaya Development Remains a Government Priority
Director of Hindu Education Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana emphasized that the development of Widyalaya remains a government priority. Support for facilities and infrastructure is provided based on the specific needs of each educational unit rather than through a uniform approach for all institutions.
“Every Widyalaya has different conditions. Therefore, assistance is provided according to the needs of each educational unit, including supporting facilities such as Smart TVs. We want the assistance provided to genuinely benefit the learning process,” Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana said.
He explained that the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance also continues to encourage the completion of administrative processes and the certification of donated land for Widyalaya development, particularly in Gianyar and Jembrana Regencies.
According to him, the development of Gurukula areas is being directed toward the establishment of integrated schools therefore the development of Hindu education can be carried out in a more planned manner.
“Widyalaya development remains a priority. We hope that Hindu education can continue to grow through the support of central government programs,” he said.
Preparations for the 2027 National Utsawa Dharma Gita
Director of Hindu Religious Affairs Ida Bagus Ketut Drana Arimbawa said that preparations for the 2027 National Utsawa Dharma Gita are continuing in coordination with the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government as the prospective host.
He encouraged regional authorities to continue conducting selection processes in stages and to strengthen coordination with local governments to support the implementation of the national religious event.
“Religious activities must be developed continuously. Therefore, communication between Hindu Community Guidance Supervisors and local governments is an important part of building joint support,” he said.
Strengthening the Role of Hindu Religious Counselors
In addition to preparations for the national event, the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance is strengthening support for Hindu Religious Counselors through the optimization of programs such as Guidance for Prospective Couples and Family Guidance.
The strengthening of the role of Hindu Religious Counselors was one of the meeting's main agendas. Counselors are considered to hold a strategic position as the frontline of religious services and community guidance.
Director General of Hindu Community Guidance Prof. I Nengah Duija called for greater attention to operational support for counselors, particularly in areas with challenging geographical conditions.
“Religious services must be able to reach all regions. Therefore, areas with challenging service conditions, including the 3T regions, need greater attention in terms of operational support for counselors,” he emphasized.
He also called for the continued strengthening of Hindu community guidance in Maluku, Sulawesi, and remote areas.
In addition, the Director General requested that the promotion process for counselors who have fulfilled the requirements be followed up promptly in accordance with applicable regulations.
Strengthening Public Information Transparency in Hindu Higher Education
In the field of Hindu higher education, Prof. Duija called on State Hindu Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKHN) to improve the quality of public information services by strengthening the management of PPID.
According to him, information transparency is an important part of building public trust in religious educational institutions.
“Strengthening governance must go hand in hand with improving the quality of public services. PTKHN institutions need to continue improving their information services so that they are more open and easily accessible to the public,” he said.
He also encouraged all units within the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance to strengthen public relations and communications efforts so that various programs and achievements can be widely known by the public.
Strategic Priorities Toward 2027
The coordination meeting identified several strategic priorities for 2027: strengthening Hindu education through Widyalaya development, increasing the capacity of Hindu Religious Counselors, preparing for the 2027 National Utsawa Dharma Gita, and improving the quality of institutional governance.
Through synergy among the central government, regional governments, higher education institutions, and all elements involved in Hindu community guidance, the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance is committed to providing increasingly high-quality religious and educational services that respond to the needs of the community.
